It sure hasn't felt like spring around here. The air has been chilly, we've had some late snows, the ground is still soggy, and the flowers haven't bloomed. Well, at least they hadn't until this past weekend. Saturday I awoke to a glimmer of hope that spring is indeed on its way - these crocus' were blooming, much to my amazement. I planted them about 4 years ago and this is the first time they've bloomed! A lovely morning peek-a-boo before mother nature decided to dump the nor'easter on us.
Parents, if you want wonderful pictures of your children, never teach them to say "cheese"! Please learn from my mistake or you will have thousands of photos just like mine - squinted eyes, scrunched up noses, clenched teeth, and an image that just screams "say cheez!!!". Join me while I search for that one perfect shot that doesn't conjure up images of dairy products. Oh, and unless you like that *messy* look, you'll probably want to clean their faces before you snap away. I never seem to remember myself.

Gorgeous shots of the flower, beautiful color!
Very beautiful! LOVE that purple!
Beautiful!
And I can relate...spring just wasn't coming but as of late Fri. we have had some great sunny weather and everyone is a bit more smiley. I think we are in for a few days of rain soon but that is OK because we have had a bunch of days of sunlight which makes POTD so much easier.
Our Spring is so random...feet of snow one day and 70 degrees the next. Enjoy the flowers while you have them. LOVELY purple here, so vibrant and colorful.
these are beautiful. first time they've bloomed in four years? funny how that works sometimes.
Beautiful color on these. My favorite shot is the second one :)
