This week's theme has kept a poem running through my head all weekend - Shel Silverstein's "Lazy Jane".
Image from a NY Times post here
My kids love this poem and it is driving me nuts!!!
Anyway, here is my take on the theme water:
"Oh my bleeding heart, my achy bleading heart..." Sorry, bit of a word change-up there, but thanks to a certain thread on 2P's another annoying phrase keeps running through my head!
Bit of shutter speed fun.
Bit of shutter speed and zoom fun. (Tryin' to get into that creative zone.)
Bit of childhood fun - who doesn't love to blow those "wishy flowers" as my son calls them.
What, oh what, could he possibly be wishing for? He certainly wouldn't tell me for great fear it won't come true. Great, now I gotta play detective so he isn't crushed when the wishy flower fairy doesn't grant his wish!
Parents, if you want wonderful pictures of your children, never teach them to say "cheese"! Please learn from my mistake or you will have thousands of photos just like mine - squinted eyes, scrunched up noses, clenched teeth, and an image that just screams "say cheez!!!". Join me while I search for that one perfect shot that doesn't conjure up images of dairy products. Oh, and unless you like that *messy* look, you'll probably want to clean their faces before you snap away. I never seem to remember myself.
An imporant sidenote is to make sure you document your life! Recording the little details of the who, what, where, when, & why makes for wonderful stories and captures your life for years to come. Because if you are like me, you'll forget it all 5 minutes later!

Ok, that sound you hear is my socks being blown off. LOVE ALL of these! The macro of the bleeding heart blossom, the silken water fall, the zooming--very cool, and those wonderful shots of your DS. Bow, Bow.

Absolutely beautiful! I love that poem... Shel Silverstein is my favorite children's poet- I have all his books and now I read them to my own kids!

That first one is just amazing! The others are awesome as well... but that first one... WOW!
These are all beautiful but I absolutely LOVE that bleeding heart one. Perfect. Ten years later I'm still wishing I had dug up my bleeding heart and brought it with me when I moved. I really should plant another one. :-)
Oh my word these shots are breathtaking. I cannot get over how great teh colors are...the effects make them seem (and they really are) as if they are a fantasy or dream. Your photography is growing so much.
