Parents, if you want wonderful pictures of your children, never teach them to say "cheese"! Please learn from my mistake or you will have thousands of photos just like mine - squinted eyes, scrunched up noses, clenched teeth, and an image that just screams "say cheez!!!". Join me while I search for that one perfect shot that doesn't conjure up images of dairy products. Oh, and unless you like that *messy* look, you'll probably want to clean their faces before you snap away. I never seem to remember myself.

An imporant sidenote is to make sure you document your life! Recording the little details of the who, what, where, when, & why makes for wonderful stories and captures your life for years to come. Because if you are like me, you'll forget it all 5 minutes later!

May Flowers in Connecticut

May in Connecticut usually doesn't give much in the way of flowers. Most of the early spring flowers have died off and the summer blooms are still developing. But we do have a few blossoms that are a delight as long as the deer don't find them! I try and try to plant a "deer resistant" garden, and spray my plants with really stinky stuff, but usually the deer chomp away at some point. Right now, things are good and the lilacs are starting to blossom and filling the air with their amazing fragrance, the allium are beginning to grow, and the clematis are climbing high, safe on my deck. I love these flowers!

Pretty flowers. Our neighbor planted about 25 trees and put eloborate fences around each one to keep the deer out, well there are like 2 left alive.
